youth and people of all ages.
A Little History
How do you actively
work towards genocide
prevention?
Ben Lesser, a
Holocaust survivor of several Ghettos and concentration camps that
included Auschwitz and Buchenwald, has dedicated his life to
preserving the memory of The Holocaust. He believes that through
teaching tolerance and acceptance we can prevent events like the
Holocaust from ever taking place again.
Ben considers it his
obligation to help the world remember what happened in the 1930s and
40s through education and a moral focus on living a life that
matters.
The ZACHOR Holocaust
Foundation has created educational materials in many forms to help
teach of the events that happened and what we can do to prevent them.
The ZACHOR website
has a learning center featuring:
- Survivor’s Testimonials
- An Expressive Circle where artists of all ages share their thoughts and feelings about the Holocaust
- A Holocaust Timetable
- Ben’s AI StoryFile
- ZACHOR Holocaust Curriculum (ZHC)
The ZACHOR
Holocaust Curriculum
Ben recently created
an online course meant to help educator teach the events that
happened during World War 2.
Learn about the
Eastern European section of World War II with the ZHC free
interactive teaching tool. Lesson plans include:
- The Holocaust: It All Started with Hate
- My Holocaust – Ben’s Experience, Part 1
- My Holocaust – Ben’s Experience, Part 2
- I Am A Survivor My Responsibility
- How Could This Happen?
- Life After Liberation
- March of the Living
- Choices
- Life Beyond Holocaust
People think the
Holocaust could never happen again, but to paraphrase Mark Twain,
history often rhymes. ZACHOR is dedicated to awakening minds to
genocide prevention
so that rhyme will never again be heard.
